Halo Infinite’s multiplayer did not get off to the best of starts during its beta period due to limited playlists, a slow battle pass leveling system, and more. Fans even threatened to boycott the game over the price of armor sets, which saw players being charged $8 for the color blue in Halo Infinite’s online store. While changes to the store are being put in place by developer 343, fans are still finding issues within the game. One video shows one of the frustrating glitches that occurs within Halo Infinite, where grenades will not explode after a player’s death.

The short clip, which was posted to Reddit, shows a player in Halo Infinite rounding a corner to see the enemy holding the Oddball. In a frantic melee, the players shoot and throw grenades at each other, with the enemy coming out on top. The player though, believes they should be getting the last laugh as they have stuck a plasma grenade to the enemy’s leg, only for it to never go off. As the player detailed, this moment was not only frustrating because the kill wasn’t secured, but the entire ranked match was lost largely due to this one moment.

In the comments, other Halo Infinite players shared in their frustration, and said they had experienced similar problems when in any game mode in Halo Infinite, not just Oddball. Oddball, the game mode where players must carry a flaming skull for a certain amount of time to win, has seen glitches before though, such as one that allowed the skull carrier to punch other players into orbit. Besides the grenade glitch though, something else players are having problems with is a game-wide desync glitch occurring in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer.

With glitches that can ruin a match in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer, many Halo fans are reminiscing about older titles, especially following the server shut down that meant players could no longer hop onto a match of Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and other older games on their Xbox 360. While January 13th, the day of the shut-down, was a heartbreaking day for many Halo fans, many were able to join together for one last match, where their plasma grenades would go off no matter if they were dead or alive.

Halo Infinite is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
