In a developer update via Halo Waypoint, the developer 343 Industries gave some info on what to expect from the return of Fracture: Tenrai. Among the changes, it was revealed that players can now complete 10 tiers of the Event Pass during the second week of the event (January 4-11). During the first week of Fracture: Tenrai, players could only unlock 7 tiers. According to the developers, this change to the number of available Event Pass tiers was made to allow dedicated players to progress through the unlockables faster.

In addition to adding more unlockable tiers to the second week of the event, players now receive Event Challenges sooner than before. This means that players should always have an available Event Challenge in the Challenge rotation. Furthermore, the weekly cap for these Event Challenges has been increased to 10, corresponding with the increase in unlockable tiers. It’s worth noting that even with these changes to the Event Pass progression for Fracture: Tenrai in Halo Infinite, it will still take players multiple weeks to unlock all of the cosmetics. Nevertheless, players should have more to do than before.

Besides making progression faster, 343 Industries revealed 11 new cosmetics have been added to the event. These additional items take the place of XP and Challenge Boosts that were previously a part of the free Event Pass. According to the developers, gamers were excited for the Fracture: Tenrai events because of the cosmetics. As a result, including a number of boosts had sapped some of the excitement out of the festivities during the first week. With these new cosmetics, the developer hopes more players attempt to complete Event Challenges this time around.

It is nice to see the developers at 343 Industries attempt to improve the Fracture: Tenrai event. Hopefully, these changes make progressing through the free Event Pass more enjoyable and easier to complete. With a few more weeks of the event left throughout the remainder of Season 1 of Halo Infinite, it will be interesting to see if the developers continue to tweak the Event Pass moving forward.

Halo Infinite is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
