There are a number of new weapons available in Halo Infinite, and one of the most well-known ones is the Ravager. In its default three-round burst mode, the Ravager is generally agreed to be a pretty bad choice, but the weapon has another feature. By holding down the right trigger, users can cause it to charge up and unleash a pool of incendiary AOE splash damage.

Reddit user BKA93 was playing against someone wielding a Ravager and shared a video of themself using an unorthodox tactic to counter the weapon. In the clip, BKA93 is shown sneaking around a map, only to be fired on by the Ravager-wielding player when they get too close to a doorway. BKA93 quickly skips backward, but the doorway is blocked by fire. However, BKA93 quickly hits the flames with what seems to be an in-game fire extinguisher to surprising results.

Within a few seconds of the canister landing among the flames, the fire has been put out by a torrent of chemical smoke. The second half of the video is dedicated to BKA93 peering through the cleared doorway at the opponent who tried to shoot them and then watching as the fire extinguisher runs out of steam. If this video is accurate, then it appears that Halo Infinite players have a new way to use fire extinguishers in matches–and possibly the main campaign as well.

As of writing, it appears that other fans are interested in the possibilities this video offers. One user called it the best Halo Infinite clip they’d ever seen and declared they would try the same trick in the near future. Several other users began discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the Ravager compared to other weapons available in the Halo franchise. This led to an examination of the tactics some pro Halo Infinite users players use to make the Ravager a truly deadly weapon. A second user congratulated BKA93 for catching the whole event on camera, as they probably wouldn’t have noticed if a fire extinguisher put out the Ravager’s flames right in front of them.

Halo Infinite is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
