The campaign side of Halo Infinite has been mostly free of fans complaints, with many even praising the campaign for how it advances the Halo franchise. Elon Musk and acclaimed horror film director John Carpenter praised the latest entry in the series. However, where multiplayer is concerned, the problems are clear for fans to see, and the latest issue shows that there’s still problems with players tracking and completing their challenges in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer.

Posted to Reddit by user Rodri117, an image shows the player’s challenges. While there doesn’t seem to initially be anything wrong with the photo, a closer look at it and the comments shows that the user should’ve completed their challenge, and yet they’ve not received the reward. Other players expressed they were experiencing the same problem with Halo Infinite’s challenges, claiming that they’d clearly completed the requirement for their XP reward, and yet had not received it.

According to Halo Infinite players in the Reddit comments, the cause of this problem is rooted in how the game views completed challenges. If someone quits out of a game after they’d been killed for a challenge, or a match involves bots, the challenge completion won’t count, which has been criticized by many players as being unfair as it depends on other players staying in the game rather than anything else. This is not the first time that Halo Infinite’s challenges have been criticized by fans, with prior criticism focusing on the repeated objectives in battle pass challenges.

Developer 343 has made changes to the battle pass challenges for Halo Infinite in the past, and yet problems are still persisting with the challenge completion. Some have found tricks to make completing challenges easier, though it seems that even months after launch, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer still has persisting problems that need fixing.

Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
