Recently, players discovered an exploit that allowed them to take control of a Pelican while playing the Halo Infinite campaign. While these large aircraft serve as transports to ferry troops and heavy artillery into and out of battle, gamers discovered that they can be used to traverse the semi-open world map. There are two main methods players have used to successfully get behind the wheel of a Pelican.

The first of these methods shown in a YouTube video by NoWise involves using the Grapple Shot found in the campaign. Players need to start by calling in a vehicle at one of the various FOBs located around Zeta Halo. The requested vehicle will soon arrive via a Pelican. This is where the Grapple Shot comes in, as players need to swing into the air next to the aircraft. Once close to the cockpit, they need to press the X button on a controller to enter the ship.
The other method used to enter the cockpit of the Pelican, demonstrated by YouTuber Generalkidd, requires players to go to FOB Hotel located in the southern section of the map. Once at the location, players must move slightly east and find a nearby Banshee. They then need to fly it close to the landing pad and call in a vehicle at the FOB. After doing this, they can fly the banshee above the incoming Pelican and jump out. If done correctly, players will land on top of the ship, where they can then enter the cockpit by holding down X on a controller.
After entering the cockpit of the Pelican using either of these methods, there are still a few more steps needed before flying. As the aircraft moves away, players must exit the Halo Infinite campaign after seeing the saving checkpoint notification and then re-enter. The Pelican should now be seen on the ground near the FOB. All that remains is for players to approach the cockpit and enter the ship. They then will be able to take to the skies in the aircraft.
It is interesting to see players make new discoveries in Halo Infinite. Besides this method of taking control of a Pelican, another player found a way to play the Halo Infinite campaign cooperatively, albeit with numerous bugs. As time passes, it will be interesting to see if players find even more secrets while exploring Zeta Halo.
Halo Infinite is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
