When it first launched, Halo Infinite was missing a number of expected features and modes that had appeared across numerous entries in the Halo series. This included Forge mode, co-op mode for Halo Infinite’s campaign, and additional multiplayer modes that were also present in previous installments, such as King of the Hill. Luckily, 343 Industries has since provided fans with a better idea of when and what to expect from Halo Infinite in the months to come.

Over on Twitter, the official Halo account revealed that a new roadmap for Halo Infinite Season 2, along with new details regarding fan requested content, was posted on Halo Waypoint. The roadmap explains that campaign co-op is expected to release in August 2022, with the open beta for Forge mode having a targeted release date of September 2022.

In addition to campaign co-op and Forge mode, the roadmap also showed off new game modes for Halo Infinite, which included King of the Hill, Land Grab, and Last Spartan Standing. It appears these modes, along with two new maps, will be the most immediate pieces of new content releasing next month.

A number of fans might be upset by the fact that the more highly requested features like co-op and Forge mode are releasing so late into the year, but it’s important to keep in mind that, at the very least, 343 Industries is being as transparent as it can be with its audience. It would be far more problematic if this roadmap didn’t exist at all and fans were just left to wonder and speculate when these modes would release, if at all.

In retrospect, it might have been better if 343 Industries had launched Halo Infinite with more content, considering the level of outcry from fans at the moment. Although, when taking this new roadmap into account, along with the ongoing rumors of a battle royale mode for Halo Infinite, it does seem like there will be a greater influx of content for Halo Infinite at some point in the future. Hopefully, the content listed on this roadmap meets expectations when it finally arrives.

Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
