While Ranked Arena in Halo Infinite is supposed to provide evenly matched games, a growing number of fans have started to believe that the system needs improvement. During many games, players of unequal skill are being matched in the same lobbies. Recently, these issues prompted pro Halo player Ricky “LxthuL” Spanish to take Twitter to express his frustration with matchmaking. “Match all players of similar rank with each other,” he said. Currently, he claimed that matchmaking only looked to balance teams, meaning a high-level player could be matched with a significantly lower-ranked one. Luckily, it appears that help is on the way for those tired of the current system.

Following these recent complaints from LxthuL and other members of the Halo Infinite community, 343 Industries announced that changes were coming to Ranked matchmaking. In a tweet responding to LxthuL, John Junyszek, community manager for Halo, said that the development team had heard the frustrations of the player base and that they agreed that something needed to be done.

According to Junyszek, the development team was beginning to investigate these unfair matchups that players had been experiencing in Ranked multiplayer games. In addition, he noted that more info about how the developers plan to address the problem will be revealed in the future. While no date was given for a fix, it seems that it is a high priority for the developer.

This isn’t the only issue the developers at 343 Industries have dealt with over the last couple of days. Recently, a growing number of players have reported cheaters and hackers infiltrating the multiplayer of Halo Infinite. In addition, the company is looking to address criticism from fans about the slow progression in the Season 1 Battle Pass.

Even though these problems impacting the multiplayer are doubtlessly concerning to many fans, it’s nice to know that the developers appear to be committed to resolving these issues. Halo Infinite has enjoyed immense success following the release of the multiplayer, with the game even becoming the top free-to-play title on the Microsoft Store. Hopefully, the developers are able to address many of the community’s complaints regarding the game so that fans can continue to enjoy the gameplay.

Halo Infinite releases on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The multiplayer beta is available now.
