What better way to celebrate the holiday season than by rewriting a Christmas carol and tailoring it to one of college basketball's most successful programs of all time?

So with help from vocalist Amy Woodall, violinist Christine Kuznia (perhaps the greatest player of the 21st century), and executive producer Christian Simpson, we present to you a holiday classic that's sure to bump Bing Crosby and Burl Ives off the airwaves in the Bluegrass State and beyond.

Props to David Glenn Show producer Hayes Permar, who gave me the idea when he did his brilliant P.J. Hairston parody song over the summer.

SN’S OTHER CAROL: Kansas We Have Heard on High

HARK THE HERALD-LEADER SINGS

(sung to the tune of “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”)

Hark the Herald-Leader sings
 	Glory to Coach Cal’s team
Peace at UK and Rupp Arena
 	God and Pitino reconciled
 	Joyful Big Blue Nation rises
To its feet following Randle’s might
With the Harrison twins and Cauley-Stein
 	Good, good times in Lexington
 	Hark the Herald-Leader sings
 	Glory to Coach Cal’s team

We just love Jerry Tipton
Clay and Story, Ben Roberts too
All we need to know about UK
 	Come from that quartet
 	Oh yes there’s Kyle Tucker
But he works for that other paper
 	Yes, you people are crazy
You hear it straight from Calipari
 	Hark the Herald-Leader sings
 	Glory to Coach Cal’s team

Who’d we forget? Oh yeah, James Young
 	Poythress, yes Ashley Judd too
 	40-0 went in smoke
But a title run’s no joke
Will this team grow up much faster
To raise banner 9 from the rafters
If they don’t let’s hope its not Rick
Seeing Cards win makes us sick
 	Hark the Herald-Leader sings
 	Glory to Coach Cal’s team
