Singer is an artist who has worked on a number of projects for different clients, including Warner Bros., Netflix, Rooster Teeth, Microsoft, Marvel Studios, and Disney. A resume like that is very decorated, so it makes sense why they’re being tapped for the director’s chair. The upcoming Marvel Studios project doesn’t have a name, date, or character list, so fans will have to wait before they hear more information.

Singer took to Twitter to break the big news, sharing their excitement with followers and comic book fans alike. Many will have to take note of this now before the project hits the spotlight. It’s not uncommon to see Marvel Studios keep quiet about what it is they’re working on, so don’t expect news until after the company finishes planning out the rollout for the upcoming project. All Singer would divulge is that the team being assembled for the project will be “awesome and special.”
Marvel Studios executives have admitted that they want to do more animated projects. There’s no telling if Singer’s mystery project will be live-action or animated. Marvel Studios has also added a few more “untitled” films to its release schedule for the fourth phase of the MCU. It is possible that Singer will be working on one of those or even a currently rumored project such as Blade or Fantastic Four. Maybe they’ll be working on the upcoming season 2 of Marvel Studios’ What If…? series.
It’s always really cool to see artists who don’t get the recognition they deserve finally make the step up into the spotlight. Marvel Studios and Disney have a history of making relatively unknown talent into worldwide icons. Directors, actors, crew, and even characters often go from being someone only a few people know about to something that the world adores.
Keep in mind that this isn’t always the ideal life. Many people value their privacy, which gets lost once they make that step into the world of Marvel. They become overnight big celebrities with huge money machines behind them. Any movie or show they do afterward becomes a bigger-than-life project because their name is now attached to the growing superhero genre. With that being said, here’s to hoping this leap serves the director well on their journey with Marvel.
